Rebuild and Refresh the Career Index
One of the most used features in SearchMaster is the Career Index, which allows you to index all the transcripts you've fed into the software and harness the power they contain. Depending on how many ASCII index text files you have saved into SearchMaster, there could be times where the career index itself becomes bogged down and needs to be refreshed and rebuilt. This is a simple process, and you won't lose ANYTHING by doing those. In fact, if you are having an issue, you'll probably find some new entries along the way as the index is rebuilt. Here's what you need to do.
- Close SearchMaster
- Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the SearchMaster installation folder, which is typically "C:\SrchMast" unless you changed it during installation
- Inside that folder you will need to delete 3 simple files, so sorting the list alphabetically will help
- Delete the files named
- Career_Index.BIN
- Career_Index.BLD
- Career_Index.FIL
- Open SearchMaster
- Create a new career index
